Alan Ritchson and director Patrick Hughes delivered a smashing success to Netflix with their motion sci-fi hit War Machinewhich instantly grew to become the second-most watched film on the streaming platform after Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s The Rip.
In an interview with Men’s JournalHughes admitted Ritchson’s reacherefficiency led to the star actor’s casting within the movie.
“I think the thing that this role required is a star that’s capable of the big action, but also an incredible sort of vulnerability,” Hughes explains. “There’s a lot of heart and soul in this movie, and it requires that duality. I think that’s what makes Alan so unique as an actor and why I love working with him.”
