MSHP trooper indicted in towing company corruption scheme
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was charged with a number of felonies in reference to a towing corruption scheme, the Jackson County prosecutor introduced on Monday morning.
Melesa Johnson said that Charles “Nate” Bradley used his place as a state trooper to assist towing corporations revenue from towing and storing stolen autos with out correct legislation enforcement involvement, stopping correct proof assortment and investigation.
Bradley faces the next fees:
- 10 counts of tampering with bodily proof
- Accessing corruption by a public servant
- Stealing ($25,000 or extra)
- First-degree property harm
Prosecutors alleged that Bradley accepted presents in trade for violating his obligation as a soldier. The indictment said that Bradley deliberately delayed restoration of stolen autos and allowed somebody to get better stolen autos on behalf of legislation enforcement.
He was charged with retaining a stolen necklace valued at $25,000 or extra, and concealing the necklace to impair a housebreaking investigation.
Court paperwork accused Bradley of damaging a 2017 Alfa Romeo by eradicating valve stems or puncturing tires.
Bradley surrendered to legislation enforcement on Friday, May 15, and bonded out shortly after.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol instructed KCTV5 that Bradley had been assigned to the Division of Drug and Crime Control as a prison investigator for MSHP Troop A.
Bradley, a veteran with MSHP since 1997, was positioned on unpaid go away on May 5.
