First Alert lifted after storm system causes power outages, early closures


AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A First Alert Weather Day has been lifted after extreme storms triggered some power outages within the space.

According to First Alert Meteorologist Malik Bryant, the First Alert was allowed to run out simply earlier than 3 a.m. Friday.

Ahead of the storm, there have been power outages and early closures.

Around 3:30 pm Thursday, there was a report of a giant tree down on Banks Mill Road at Woodvale Lane in Aiken County. According to Dominion Energy, about 44 prospects have been out of power.

Across the Savannah River in Richmond County, 2080 prospects have been out of power in an space round Doctors Hospital.

As of late Thursday night, the Georgia Power outage map is reporting greater than 270 prospects with out power. Aiken Electric Cooperative is reporting that greater than 560 prospects are with out power.

Meanwhile, varied establishments closed early forward of the unhealthy climate that might occur between 7 pm Thursday and seven am Friday.
