Coroner identifies motorcyclist killed in crash with semi on Illinois Rd.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The motorcyclist killed in a crash involving a semi-truck in Fort Wayne on Thursday you could have been recognized.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office says 69-year-old James David North, of Fort Wayne, died of ‘a number of blunt influence accidents.’
His loss of life has been dominated an accident, and marks Allen County’s eleventh site visitors fatality in 2026.

The crash occurred at Illinois Road and Ansley Drive, east of I-69, round 3:30 pm on April 30.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, North was headed eastbound on Illinois Road when the semi-truck pulled out from a non-public drive, inflicting a fiery collision.
North was pronounced useless at a neighborhood hospital, whereas the semi-truck driver was reportedly unhurt.
Alcohol just isn’t believed to be an element in the crash, and FWPD says the semi-truck driver is cooperating with authorities.
The crash stays underneath investigation.
