Wake schools plans lessons around ‘America 250’ :: WRAL.com

The Wake County Public School System is getting ready to assist college students replicate on the United States’ 250th birthday.

It’s the most recent of quite a few planned celebrations and commemorations in North Carolina and past forward of the July 4, 2026, anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The school system’s plan consists of dozens of advised actions for college kids, reminiscent of creating timelines, finding out native figures and interviewing their elders.

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources labored with educators, historians and lots of others to provide you with the themes for “America 250” within the state’s school rooms. Those themes are envisioning freedom, gathering voices and discovering widespread floor.

The faculty system plans to current their concepts to the varsity board’s pupil achievement committee Tuesday afternoon.
