Rangers Claim Tye Kartye Off Waivers


New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury introduced at this time that the group has claimed ahead Tye Kartye off waivers.

Kartye, 24, appeared in 40 video games for the Seattle Kraken this season, tallying eight factors (3G-5A) and 98 hits. Kartye has appeared in 75 profession AHL video games throughout two seasons, all with the Firebirds, registering 61 factors (30G-21A). During the 2022-23 season, he has ranked third on the Firebirds in objectives (28) and factors (57), and fourth in energy play objectives (5) and pictures (158). Following that season, he was named the AHL’s Most Outstanding Rookie. He additionally appeared in 18 video games in the course of the 2023 Calder Cup playoffs and notched eight factors (6W-2A).

Prior to turning professional, the 5-11, 202-pound ahead spent components of three seasons with the Soo Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In 191 OHL video games, Kartye collected 156 factors (74G-82A). During the 2021-22 season, he led the group in objectives and ranked second in factors.
