Elsewhere in the podcastLove revealed that for years she thought Marlon Brando may very well be her grandfather.
While she’s now certain he’s not (although he allegedly slept with her grandma, the novelist Paula Fox), she recalled their unsavory meeting.
“When I met him, I believed he was tremendous repulsive and that tracked. I used to be like, ‘Oh, I have to be associated to this man,'” stated Love, noting that she was pleasant with Brando’s neighbor Warren Beatty and “lobbied him” to facilitate a gathering between the pair.
According to Love, she told Beatty, now 89, she just wanted to meet Brando and didn’t “need something” from him.
“And then Warren, he stated, ‘Marlon desires a be aware from you.’ So I wrote him a be aware. ‘I do not need something from you,’” recalled Love.
Despite giving the Oscar winner her “phrase,” Love used Brando’s bathroom and eyed his toothbrush, knowing she could easily take it and use his DNA to uncover the truth about her lineage.
Ultimately she decided against it. “I’m glad I did not as a result of it turned out he wasn’t even my grandfather, so there’s the comedy there,” stated Love.
