St. Louis-area schools dismissing early Monday for severe weather

ST. LOUIS—A powerful storm system is about to brush by the St. Louis area on Monday afternoon, bringing the danger of harmful winds, massive hail and tornadoes.

In response to the severe weather risk, a number of St. Louis-area college districts and organizations are adjusting schedules, dismissing students early, or canceling after-school activities to assist hold college students and employees secure.

• All Saints Academy-St. Norbert – No aftercare or after-school actions.
• Belleview R-3 – Closing at 12:30 pm
• Blessed Teresa of Calcutta – Closing at 1 pm
• Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis – Closed
• Brilliant Angels Academy – Closing at 2 pm; dismissal begins at 1 pm
• Brooklyn UD No. 188 – Closing at 1 pm
• Carrollton CU School District 1 – Closing at 2 pm
• Christian Academy-Greater St. Louis – Closing at 3 pm; no after-school actions.
• City of St. Charles Schools – Closing 2 hours early; AMI day at Blackhurst Elementary as a result of no energy.
• Community Living Day Programs – Closing at 1 pm
• Confluence Academy – No after-school actions.
• De Soto No. 73 School District – Early Childhood Center, Middle School, High School and Dragon Annex closing at 11 am; Athena Elementary and Vineland Elementary closing at midday; no after-school actions.
• EMASS – Closing at 3 pm
• Fort Zumwalt R-2 – Early launch schedule – 2.5 hours early; no after-school actions.
• Francis Howell School District – No after-school sports activities or actions.
• Grand Center Arts Academy – No after-school actions.
• Hazelwood School District – Closing 2 hours early.
