Social media platform X, previously Twitter, skilled widespread service disruptions throughout India on Wednesday night, based on outage-tracking web site Downdetector. Thousands of customers reported difficulties accessing their feeds, loading posts and opening hyperlinks shared on the platform.
By 8:17 pm, Downdetector had recorded 1,227 outage studies from customers throughout the nation. The numbers climbed quickly, crossing 4,500 studies by 8:30 pm IST, reflecting a pointy spike in complaints inside minutes. The emergence recommended a major disruption affecting numerous customers on the similar time.
Users mentioned that whereas notifications and alerts from X continued to reach, they had been unable to refresh their timelines or load new content material. Many trying to reload the web site encountered the error message: “Something went incorrect, strive once more.” On the mobile application, users reported seeing the message: “Cannot retrieve posts at the moment. Please strive once more later.” Screenshots shared online showed Downdetector’s outage graph mirroring the increase in reports.
The disruption appeared to affect both web and mobile users, although the impact varied across accounts and regions.
Is Outage Limited To India?
At present, there is no clear confirmation on the geographic scope of the outage. As of the latest updates, X has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the disruption or outlining when services will be fully restored.
When Will X Work Normally?
Users are awaiting clarification from the company regarding the nature of the technical issue and any steps being taken to resolve it. The platform, which rebranded from Twitter after being acquired by Elon Musk, has experienced intermittent outages in the past, although most have typically been resolved within hours. Given the scale of Wednesday’s reports, attention is now focused on whether the company will provide an update and how quickly normal functionality can be restored.
Further developments are expected if X releases a statement confirming the cause of the disruption and providing a timeline for resolution.
