1 killed in Lakeland crash: LPD

LAKELAND, FL – One individual was killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash, in response to the Lakeland Police Department.

What we all know:

Police say Justin Hackney, 49, was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck westbound on Ariana Street round 9 am when it drifted throughout the eastbound lanes, went off the street and struck a tree in a parking zone.

First responders, together with the Lakeland Police Department, Polk County Fire Rescue, and the Lakeland Fire Department responded and began life-saving measures for the driving force.

Hackney was taken to Lakeland Regional Health, the place he was pronounced lifeless.

Crash closes Ariana Street

Dig deeper:

Members of the Lakeland Traffic Homicide Unit processed the scene, which closed eastbound Ariana Street for about half-hour.
