Meghann Fahy Fell In Love With Her “White Lotus” Costar Leo Woodall, And Here’s How It All Went Down
While everyone was worried with the misadventures of Jennifer Coolidge’s character Tanya in The White LotusI was neck-deep in a rabbit hole trying to figure out the specific moment real-life actors Leo Woodall, 29, and Meghann Fahy, 35, fell in love.

If you remember, the immensely likable housewife Daphne Sullivan (Meghann) and the mysteriously hot bad boy Jack (Leo) were certified scene-stealers of the award-winning Season 2 of The White Lotus on HBO Max.

So, when news dropped that the two actors (who played characters that never really interacted in the actual show) were dating in real life, it rocked my world.

During the Jan. 28 episode of one of my favorite podcasts, podcrushed with Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari, The Bold Type actor opened up about the juicy details of her relationship with Leo, and now, I can sleep better at night.

Penn, who is starring in the upcoming comedy You Deserve Each Other with Meghann, was just as eager to finally get out all the details about her serendipitous costar romance on the podcast.

“Leo’s character doesn’t come in until Episode 3, I think. So, I was there before him for a bit,” Meghann explained. “And when he got there, I met, I saw him in like the little area where we would have lunch and I gave him my number, because I was like, ‘Well, you know, you’re new here.’ I totally know how it is to show up late to something. It sucks.”

“It’s like everyone’s been at camp without you when they’ve already made friends,” she said, expressing that it would make her feel quite vulnerable.

“So I really was just wanting to reach out as a friend and say like, you know, I don’t want you to be lonely or feel like you don’t fit in. I didn’t even say that to him, but that was the intention and he never did anything with it,” Meghann said.

She continued, “And of course, like months later, I was like, ‘I gave you…’ He was like, ‘I didn’t know that you were interested in me.’ And I was like, ‘I gave you my number! Like, how did you not know that?!’ And he was like, ‘I didn’t think you meant that. I didn’t think you were actually giving me your number because you wanted to be friends with me.'”

“The truth is, it was just a very easy connection, and we very quickly became really, really good buddies,” she said. “We weren’t ever on set at the same time, apart from like maybe one night we’re doing a dinner scene, and those are the only times I think on White Lotus when everyone is in the same vicinity.”

“Other than that, we weren’t in any stuff together or anything, so we kind of just became friends, and that was… how it happened,” she added.

If you’re a firm believer in destiny, like me, Meghann was almost on Season 1 of White Lotus and probably would’ve never had the chance to meet Leo on set. “When I first got White LotusI was almost on the first season, and then I wasn’t, and I was so gutted, and then obviously the second season was like because the first season had done so well [it] felt like there was this really incredible sort of expectation,” she said.

“I was so nervous when I first got there, and then as soon as we kind of started going, I was like, oh, I actually think I’m so much closer to this character in the season than I would’ve been to the character that I was up for the first season. And I just thought what an incredible journey to go on, and realized there’s a reason certain things don’t happen, or they do, but not until later. Like I’m always grateful for, like, the timing,” she said.

Whew, now I’m going to sleep like a baby knowing that at least one couple had a happy ending at that hotel in Italy from Season 2 of The White Lotus. (And it’s a real one, too!)
