Gospel Reflection – Tuesday, March 24, 2026
Friends, in at this time’s Gospel, Jesus predicts his crucifixion and his Father’s function in his coming dying. What allowed the primary Christians to carry the cross, sing its praises, use it as ornament, is the truth that God exactly elevated and confirmed the crucified Jesus. “You killed him, but God raised him.” Therefore, God was concerned on this horrible occasion; God was there, conducting his saving functions.
But what does this imply? There have been quite a few makes an attempt all through centuries of Christianity to present a reputation to the saving nature of the cross. Let me supply an opinion. To the early Christians it was clear that, someway, on that horrible cross, sin had been resolved. The curse of sin had been eliminated, solid apart. On that horrible cross, Jesus served because the “lamb of God,” sacrificed for sin.
Does this imply that God the Father is a merciless overseer who calls for a bloody sacrifice in order that his anger may be appeased? No. The crucifixion of Jesus was a gap of the divine coronary heart in order that we may see that no sin of ours may finally separate us from the love of God.
