UMBC men’s basketball still stuck at the airport due to weather delays
UPDATE: Shortly earlier than 6 pm UMBC landed safely in Dayton, Ohio after a protracted weather delay for the Retrievers’ constitution flight out of BWI for the NCAA Tournament.
UMBC men’s basketball is again in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the Retrievers’ historic takedown of the primary seed Virginia in 2018 as the 16 seed. That was a match first.
This squad, America East common season and convention match champions, are as soon as once more the 16 seed. However, UMBC is in a play-in sport aside from the First Four in Dayton, Ohio beginning tomorrow evening. But proper now, UMBC is operating delayed due to weather at the airport.
UMBC was supposed to be on a 12 pm flight to Dayton. Three hours later, they still have not left and can miss their 4 pm hour media availability to preview tomorrow’s 6:40 tip-off in the First Four in opposition to Howard.

Howard has already arrived for tomorrow’s sport. The winner will probably be the 16-seed and face 1-seed Michigan in the Midwest Region out of Buffalo, New York on Thursday night.
