The NFL world is pretty much in agreement that Malik Willis is going to get a solid payday in free agency.

But just how much will the Green Bay Packers’ backup QB cost? That’s a bit more up in the air, but everyone has an idea.
Pro Football Focus is the latest to weigh in. The projection from PFF: two years, $40 million, with $30 million guaranteed.

That’s very similar to the contract Justin Fields signed with the New York Jets before the 2025 season.
“Willis has logged just 547 career snaps, but he showed enough in his lone start this season to draw significant interest as a free agent,” PFF writes. “While the sample size is limited, he has produced a 4.8% big-time throw rate against a 1.8% turnover-worthy play rate over his career to date.”

After a rough start to his career with the Tennessee Titans, Willis appears to have grown in a big way in his two seasons with the Packers.
Under Matt LaFleur, and backing up Jordan Love, Willis has shown improved accuracy and an ability to operate on time and on target.
His arm strength and mobility were never in question.

PFF doesn’t list a destination for Willis, although ironically, the Jets could go after him to replace Fields.
There will be other suits, too, and this price point would definitely have the Packers looking elsewhere for a QB2.

Willis will have one of the most fascinating free agent cases of the offseason.
