Trump arrives at Mar-a-Lago for Dan Scavino’s wedding
WASHINGTON — A cadre of MAGA bigwigs descended on Mar-a-Lago Sunday for White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino’s star-studded wedding to US embassy art director Erin Elmore — including President Trump himself.
“That’s a big day! Very loyal, very fantastic people,” Trump told reporters ahead of the ceremony.
The wedding marked the second of back-to-back ceremonies at President Trump’s Florida properties, after podcast maven Alex Bruesewitz tied the knot with former Miss Nevada USA Carolina Urrea at Trump National Doral Miami on Saturday.
Trump, tech baron Elon Musk, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Fox News host Sean Hannity, and more attended the ceremony on a chilly day in Florida.
Many of the president’s family members, including Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Bettina Anderson, ex-wife, Vanessa, and daughter, Kai, were also among the guests. Eric Trump’s wife, Lara, and the president’s daughter, Tiffany, her husband, Michael Boulos, attended the festivities too.
Scavino, 50, a trusted ally of Trump from the start of his political career, helped pioneer his brass-knuckled social media strategy and has since been put in charge of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, which oversees 4,000 political appointments, including 1,600 that must clear the Senate.
Trump was unable to make Bruesewitz’s wedding, but sent a video message instead, as he attended the ritzy Alfalfa Club’s black-tie dinner with Washington, DC, elite on Saturday.
“[From] everything I hear Alex, you got very, very lucky,” Trump beamed in the video message to Bruesewitz.
Scavino had proposed to Elmore on Sept. 25 outside the Oval Office — later revealing the big news on social media.
He later explained that the impetus for holding the wedding now is the administration’s busy schedule this year, as Trump is set to return to campaign mode to help Republicans fight to retain control of the House.
“What are we gonna do – get married in October?” Scavino joked during an interview on “The Katie Miller Podcast.”
Initially, Scavino’s wedding at Mar-a-Lago was intended to be a surprise, but the White House deputy chief of staff let it slip during an appearance on the podcast, as The Post scooped.
“I wasn’t supposed to say this,” Scavino quipped. “But I’m an honest guy.”
Scavino first crossed paths with Trump in the 1990s while serving as a bag room assistant and caddie at Briar Hall Country Club. Over time, he rose in Trump world.
Last October, Trump tapped him to replace Sergio Gor as head of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.
Gor had clashed with some administration officials and ranked some Senate staffers, as The Post previously reported. Trump has since made him the ambassador to India.
