Recipients of the eightieth Annual Theater World Awards, honoring excellent debut performances in a Broadway or Off-Broadway manufacturing, have been introduced May 7. The honorees will likely be celebrated June 2 at 2 PM at a ceremony at Broadway’s Longacre Theatre.

Theater journalist Peter Filichia will once more host the ceremony, produced by Theater World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors and President Dale Badway with Executive Producer Karen Johnston.

The 2026 Theater World Award Honorees embrace Ben Ahlers, Death of a Salesman; LJ Benet, The Lost Boys; Madeline Brewer, Becky Shaw; Adrian Brody, The Fear of 13; Ayo Edebiri, proof; Alden Ehrenreich, Becky Shaw; Luke Evans, The Rocky Horror Show; Will Harrison, Punch; River Lipe-Smith, Caroline; Lesley Manville, Oedipus; Robert “Silk” Mason, Cats: The Jellicle Ball; and Sam Tutty, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).

The night will even embrace the shows of the seventeenth Annual Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence within the Theater, honoring an excellent efficiency in a Broadway or Off-Broadway manufacturing, to Rachael Stirling (Giant); and The John Willis Award, given for lifetime achievement within the theatre. The recipient of the latter will likely be introduced shortly.

The Theater World Award honorees are chosen by the Theater World Awards Committee, which includes Linda Armstrong (Amsterdam News), David Cote (The Observer), Joe Dziemianowicz (New York Daily News, emeritus), Peter Filichia (The Newark Star-Ledger, emeritus), David Finkle (New York Stage Review), Elysa Gardner (USA Today, emeritus), Cary Wong (freelance), and Frank Scheck (The Hollywood Reporter).

The Theater World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors is headed by Badway with Vice-President Tom LynchVice-President Michael Kostel, Secretary Stephen Wilde, Treasurer Rozanne Scarpelli, James Sheridan, Karen Johnston, Jeffrey Groveand Arthur Makar.
